What Remains – suicide bereavement sessions

‘What Remains’ is a workshop-based project that brings together local people affected by suicide loss and bereavement. This small intimate session meets every Saturday morning at Northlight Art Studios in Hebden Bridge to articulate somehow the emotional legacy of suicide using creative expression.

Over the course of the project we will be posting up some of the group participant’s writing. Out of respect for group members, the writings will remain anonymous:

‘If It Had a Colour’

I can’t explain the feeling but I knew it lived in me.
If it had a colour – it would be dark grey,
a blanket of hopelessness engulfing me.
The children share their light and lit the corners of the room –
but still there was not peace.

Peace looks like a light settled on still water.
Trees solid and warmth pouring in.

Peace is stillness –
Peace is what’s inside.
Peace is loving you today
Peace is letting everything else go!
