verd de gris arts win a National Creative Learning Award!

We are so proud to have won an award for our ‘5000 Miles‘ project at the National Creative Learning Award in Halifax last week!

Quote from our Awards Judge, Ian McMillan, Poet, journalist, playwright & broadcaster:

“I like the scope and ambition of the verd de gris arts project, particularly in these narrow and threadbare times. This is a real and powerful example of how people can be brought together to make and share new work and to hunt at possibilities of different ways of thinking, which seems to me to be a definition of Further Education.”

Thanks to @CLGuild #CLGawards for a very special day!

And thanks to some special people who worked on the project with us: storyteller Peter Findlay, choreographer Natalie Speake, cellist Helen Thatcher, and Michaela O’Sullivan and the team at Square Chapel Arts Centre … and the students and staff at Calderdale College Performing Arts / Art & Design … big up creative learning!
